If you’ve seen the original Halloween films, then you’re aware of the psycho serial killer named Michael Myers
. He’s often referred to as “the Shape” or even more commonly the Boogeyman. That’s because he has an evil presence that is hard to shake. Whether it’s his superhuman strength and ability to kill with military precision, or his unsettling appearance and blank expression, Michael Myers is one scary dude.
The film series first came out in 1978 and has been a popular horror franchise ever since. Over the course of four films (and a few short stories), we learn that Michael Myers is a dedicated serial killer who has been on a killing spree for decades killing children at random around Halloween
time. In each film, he is captured by a sheriff’s deputy named Laurie Strode (played by Jamie Lee Curtis). This year marks Michael Myers’ 40th anniversary since his gruesome debut on screen in Halloween II (1981). While we may never know what drives him to kill children, we do know that he has always had a large fanbase among fans of horror movies who look forward to seeing him return every year like clockwork!
